| March 9, 2010 ORGANIZATIONS BENEFIT FROM COMMUNITY GAMING GRANTS KAMLOOPS – Several organizations will benefit from a total of $232,744 in Community Gaming Grant funding to support their work with youth and seniors. “These organizations will use these funds to engage our youth in healthy activities and enrich the lives of seniors,” says Kamloops-North Thompson MLA Terry Lake. “The support provided by these Community Gaming Grants will enhance our funding of education, resources and opportunities for youth and seniors,” says Kamloops-South Thompson MLA Kevin Krueger. The organizations receiving Community Gaming Grants are as follows: • Kamloops Citizens Promoting Respectful Relationships Society • Valleyview Overlanders Lions Club • Kamloops Therapeutic Riding Association • Kamloops & District Society For People In Motion • North Shore Community Centre Society • Scouts Canada – 1st Wells Gray • Pine Grove Lodge Residents Society • Kamloops-Seniors Information, Referral & Resources Society • Kamloops Family Resources Society • Scouts Canada- 3rd Kamloops Group • Kamloops & districts Senior 4-H Leaders • Scouts Canada- 1st Valleyview • Yellowhead Community Services Society (Clearwater) Government gaming grants allow eligible organizations to apply for gaming revenues to support a broad range of programs and services. -30- | |
